Preparing for Higher Education and Beyond

General upper secondary education is academically oriented and prepares students for success in higher education. Throughout their studies, students receive guidance and support in planning their studies, setting goals, and making decisions about their future educational and career pathways.

At the end of their studies, students complete the Finnish National Matriculation Examination (General Upper Secondary Education in Finnish or in English), a nationwide examination that assesses the knowledge and skills acquired during general upper secondary education, or the IB Diploma Programme Examinations. Successful completion of both the general upper secondary school syllabus and the matriculation examination leads to graduation and eligibility for further studies.

A Modern and Supportive Learning Environment

The general upper secondary school syllabus takes three to four years to complete, depending on their individual study plan. After graduation, students are qualified to apply to universities, universities of applied sciences, and other forms of post-secondary education and training in Finland and internationally.

Studying at Gradia provides students with a supportive learning environment, modern facilities, and opportunities to participate in various projects, events, and international activities that enrich their educational experience and prepare them for a rapidly changing world.
