How to Apply for the Vocational Education?

Applying for English-language training

  1. Read the training description on the Studyinfo website and Gradia’s webpages. 
  • Carefully familiarize yourself with the selection criteria and any possible annual tuition fees. 
  1. For language skills assessment, take the Duolingo English Test (DET).  
  • The general score for language proficiency must be at least 85 points.  
  • The test must be no more than two years old. 
  1. Apply for the training programme in Studyinfo. 
  •  Fill in the application form and attach the requested documents to your application during the application period. 
  • All applicants are required to submit a certificate of the Duolingo English Test and a certificate of completion of basic education or an equivalent qualification. The certificate must be translated into English, Finnish, or Swedish. 
  • If multiple applications are submitted for the same training programme, the latest application will remain valid, and the others will be automatically cancelled. 
  • Documents cannot be submitted separately by email, and open applications will not be accepted via email.

  1. Complete the pre-assignment and submit it by the deadline. 
  • All applicants who fulfil the selection criteria and apply in time will receive the pre-assignment by email after the application period ends. 
  • Complete the pre-assignment carefully and answer all questions honestly yourself. 
  • The application will be considered cancelled if the pre-assignment is not returned by the deadline. 
  1. Participate in the selection event if you receive an invitation. 
  • Based on the application and the pre-assignment, some applicants who meet the selection criteria will be invited to the selection event. 
  • More detailed information about the organization of the selection event can be found in the training description for each programme. 

Duolingo – English language test

All applicants must attach a valid Duolingo English Test to their application. The test is valid for two years, and the test score and certificate must be attached to the application. The minimum acceptable overall score is 85 points. 

  • The test is subject to a fee according to Duolingo's price list. 
  • Register for the Duolingo English Test.
  • Read the instructions for completing the test carefully before starting. Select Gradia as the school. 
  • Save the test certificate and add it to the application form. 
  • Also add a link to the textual result of the test to your application. 
  • The Duolingo English Test cannot be replaced by other language tests, degree certificates, or other certificates demonstrating language proficiency.
