Anssi Tuominen elected as Gradia's CEO

Anssi Tuominen has been elected as the new CEO of the Jyväskylä Education Consortium Gradia. The election was decided on 17 December 2021 by the Gradia Board of Governors on the unanimous recommendation of the Board of Directors.

Anssi Tuominen is currently Director of the Kajaani Education Department, responsible for both general upper secondary and vocational education. He will take up his post as CEO of the Consortium on 1 March 2022 at the latest, until which time Vesa Voutilainen, Finance and Administration Director, will be the Acting CEO of the Consortium.

The CEO is responsible for the management, finances, strategic development and performance of the Consortium and its activities according to the objectives and policies set by the Board of Directors and the Consortium Council.

The position of CEO was left vacant when Vesa Saarikoski, Gradia's previous CEO, became Rector of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences in September 2021.

13 people applied for the post. Of the applicants, one did not meet the qualifications for the post and two withdrew their applications in the middle of the recruitment process. Based on the overall assessment, the Gradia Board decided unanimously on 25 November to propose Anssi Tuominen as CEO. The final selection was made by the Consortium Council on 17 December 2021.
